unwanted project saves?

PHPRunner General questions

I am playing with phprunner and find it very buggy, at least, the visual editor is!
For example, in visual editor I am changing text size, using italics etc. Then I will "go back" so I can add an event or add another table etc. Then, when I return to the VE, my layout is often corrupted. That is problem enough, but even though I exit without saving the project, on restarting I find my original (saved) project has been corrupted - this necessitates a reset which obviously wastes a lot of time and is very annoying. I've taken to making extra copies of the project.phpr file but surely this is ridiculous?
Anyone else having this problem?

YES
. . . I was hoping that the DIV approach adopted in V5 would help, but its not that much better.
My approach is to try everything you can to avoid making changes in the visual editor. You can do a lot with styling using the custom view properties for fields, inserting code snippets, and developing your own custom layouts and style sheets (which work really well). After developing ~ 20 applications with PHPRunner I think it is a great product, only let down by the visual editor. 90% of my time on any project is spent mucking about with the visual editor and dealing with the issues it introduces.

Mark, I am in total agreement with you! I love the product and what I have produced so far, with zero knowledge of php is amazing. However, although I can just about stomach the VE bugs, one thing I can't tolerate is the corruption of my project file. This is something that needs addressing immediately, as I can't risk having hours of work damaged through no fault of my own - anyone here from tech support?

It's difficult to tell you what's happening without seeing actual files.
Please zip your project file and open a ticket at http://support.xlinesoft.com sending your files along with instructions and screenshots on reproducing this error.

Hi Jane.

I will do, next time I "play". But please tell me, when the VE corrupts, how does this corrupt the original project.phpr file that I'm working on without saving it? That's a complet no no.

This is what Jane said explained to me:
"All changes on the Visual Editor tab are saved in the files in the

visual folder, not in the project file. This error usually happens when

project settings and changes on the Visual Editor tab are not merged.

For example you have added new field to the list page on the "Choose

fields" tab but list page was changed and some fields were moved on the

Visual Editor tab. To fix it you need to reset these pages on the

Visual Editor tab and apply changes again.
Also I recommend you to set up all settings in the project first and

then edit page on the Visual Editor tab. "

Guys,
how do you expect us to help you?

I need to step in for the Support team here. Yes, the VE is buggy, and I know it's gonna be 90% better in V5.1 . It's 100 times better than when I started with V3 something a few years ago.
On thing is for sure! I've never been let down by the support from Jane, Sergey and other forum friends. But, they can only help if they are provided with fact sand examples. Why complain and then do nothing. Either admit the problem was solved, or give evidence of your problems. I'm sure they will help if they know with what.
Looking forward to V5.1. I can see something cooking already...

Admin and Stephen.
Sorry, but when I trimmed my last reply I accidentally cut the opening [quote].
My reply was the explanation Jane gave to my original question after I uploaded the files to support, and it was supposed to help others that were having the same or similar problems.
