ASPrunner failing to launch.

As the above indicates, one (apparently) cannot launch when not connected to the Internet.
I was recently on a business trip and took my laptop with me. When I tried to launch ASPrunner while disconnected - I couldn't. I got Memory read erros and such.
Soon as I connected at the Hotel - no problem. I thought Hmmm, maybe just a glitch. I disconnected again and no launch.
Is this a correct reaction?
It seems weird to me, but is not a big deal.

Actually Jane, I think it was my Kaspersky antivirus. I got an update for him automatically around the same time. I added runner to it's trusted zones and now it seems fine.
I suspect that runner is trying to connect to a server to validate it's existance and Kaspersky somehow caused a conflict. If runner doesn't do this, please let me know cause it may be another issue and may pop up again.
