error message during save 'failed to read server response'

we keep getting an error message when try and save a project - "failed to read server response" . The computer seems to be working for all other applications, and we've been able to save previously (in this version) without a problem. We've also tried 'save as' with the same result. I'm not looking forward to loosing a bunch of work? Any thoughts? Stability issues?

What database do you use? Is it local or remote database?

Do you store your project file locally or on the network share?

The project files are saved locally on an secondary internal hard drive, we connect remotely to mysql.

We tried v4.1 and it works fine. This error is only happening the latest version.
Any thoughts?

if this error is reproducable send me your project directory zipped along with steps to reproduce the error.
