Import not working

I think I am not alone (after having searched the forum for import-related topics) in saying the import facility is in great need of improvement. I spent at least 2 hours yesterday trying to get it to work. In the end I even limited my list to just 4 records and deleted content that might have caused import errors (such as notes in a notes field)...
I resorted to using PHPMyAdmin to import my list.

At first I thought, "ok. I suppose I could just continue to use PHPMyAdmin for import needs." But, after further reflection, this is counter to my long-term goal of building apps that I can train others to administer without needing too much technical know-how.
So, I really hope that this feature of PHPR will see some serious development work. Just take a look at the import system for Salesforce.com- you can match columns, set data types, set delimiters, assign records to users, add default values, and much more. Their import system doesn't choke on notes fields.
Even Caspio.com's import system has almost never choked on me. You can import Access, Excel, and csv files. You don't have to worry about the order of your columns- the system is intelligent enough to match them up using the column names in the first row of your file.
What are your plans for improving on the import feature? When do you expect to complete these improvements?

If you having any issues with import post your application to Demo Account (last screen in PHPRunner) and send the URL to support@xlinesoft.com. Attach the sample import file and error message.
