Citing ex manual (partially modified):

Overview

To enable PDF view option download PDF View plugin. Unzip it to C:\Project files\PHPRunner4.2\source directory. Then proceed to Choose pages screen in PHPRunner and check off PDF View check box.
This option is global and will be applied to all tables, views and reports in your project. If this option turned on "PDF view" link appears on View and Print All pages.
This plugin requires about 8.5 Mb on your hard drive and on the web server.

Did it as above, yet the hook button is still grayed..., what I´m missing ?

move htpm2ps folder to the C:\Project files\PHPRunner4.2\source\plugins directory.

We'll fix it in the Help.

thanx a million..., that did the trick or as we use to say over here "Sometimes you can´t see the forest due to quite a number of trees....", with some little brainstorming at my end, I should have worked it around same way. Anyway, my personal congrats and awards to the XLINESOFT team (...in order to avoid the typical O-Tone used by forum members, say, ..."SERGEY´s team really rocks...") in regard to this very new feature. I had been ever looking for something else than that being presented by Justin from Australia, I mean his PDF "...on the fly..." OPEN SOURCE invoicing system..., thanx to VISUAL EDITOR the VIEW page invoicing design is a child´s game now and makes my usage of Justin´s product totally obsolete due to missing AJAX feature (among others). A TRUE BIZ LIFE SAVER!..., this new PDF feature.

Jane,
another GOODIE would be to place a hint on "...plugins/html2ps/demo/systemcheck.php" within the manual, I just practically discovered on a MADRID design based project that some fonts are missing, hence no action seen on the VIEW PDF related progress bar on PDF file generation.

The DOWNLOAD link along with further instructions could be viewed within the HELP manual of PHPR 4.2 under ADVANCED TOPICS > PDF VIEW SETTINGS..., make sure that the files are extracted to the right path, say, "C:\Program Files\PHPRunner4.2\source\plugins" as the manual is still talking different and the manual content shall be corrected by Jane any time from now (see lines above).
