Resizing Text Field

My list page set the text field and column width automatically. I have tried adjusting the column width but the text field doesn't change. I tried going to the text field's properties and changing the size under the Edit As tab and that didn't change anything, either.
How do I change the size of the text field?

If you talking about the List page - modify the column width in Visual Editor dragging the column edge.

Text field will take all the space in the column.
Make sure you have enough space on the List page. If you have too many columns on the list page web browser shrinks all of them to fit all columns on the same page.

There must have been a corrupt file because it started giving me an error. I deleted the project and started over and it worked fine.
