Calendar template for event registration

Calendar Template general questions

I use Joomla, and am not excited about the calendar and event registration options. Probably the best is JEvents and DTRegister.

I've bought the PHPR templates, but have seen that it's difficult to make a project that incorporates more than one of either the Shopping Cart or the Calendar.
Is there anything on the roadmap that would make it easier to use the checkout component of the Cart for events on the Calendar? Or is there a simple way to do it now, and make the Events the store items?
I think it's complicated by the way that the Calendar generates the future recurring events on the fly, so that it might be difficult to assign a SessionID? I think I read something about that in either the forum or the readme.
Thanks for any pointers.

Ken,
I'm afraid I don't understand how do you want these templates to work together.
Could you elaborate this?

If the Shopping Cart Item is a "session", or a massage, or a rental of a time slot of some kind, it would be nice that the customer could pick this off the calendar somehow, or that the calendar could somehow list the time slots that are left.
OR, I am buying tickets for the showing of a movie, 2 adults, 2 children, one senior citizen, for X/Y/ZZZZ at 2:00 p.m.
There is a shopping cart called Freeway that does this pretty well and has a pretty good online demo of how it might work.
It would be great to have this in the PHPR context.
Thanks,

Ken

I am offering $100 for a well-thought out, documented solution for event registration using these two templates in a PHPR5 project that I can build and deploy.
PM me if you have questions.
Best,

Ken

OK, It's been about a year since I started this thread, and the situation is no better. There is no good integrated calendar/event registration component for Joomla! at this time.
DTRegister relies on JEvents, which has been unstable at times, and that reliance creates problems.
Here is a post from their forum a couple of days ago, from http://www.dthdevelopment.com/index.php?op...97&catid=16
"DT Register should really focus on moving away from jEvents. I used to use it back in the Mambo days but it really hasnt progressed much in the last few years, development is slow, it is a complicated and messy component in my opinion.
eventlist has pretty much taken over as the leading event component and has been joomla 1.5 native now for a year and half or something.
My suggestion would be to include whatever event/calendar code that is required into the core of DT Register or change to support EventList.
You need to look long term and i dont think long term there is much happening with jevents."
Register Pro doesn't have a calendar, and OpenFreeway is promising a Joomla 1.5 version, but is late.
Anyway, the World awaits some ambitious PHPR user to integrate these two templates and start selling the product.
Best,

Ken
