Record lost?

I have just been tinkering with phprunner using the trial version when I noticed when updating a record (just clicked on the save button) I lost connection to my hosts sql server or so a error page told me. error = mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server during query?
When I tried again I noticed that the record I was working on was gone! nowhere to be found, I even checked in the database and the whole table just vanished.

Any ideas how to prevent this?
Also when the trial version expires are the records/site I created using phprunner, locked or disabled in any way?
