Drop Downs

I have some drop downs that depend on the value of a field. I want to display to the users the following Information; once they choose in one drop down the number associated with an item.
Description, Serial, Manf, Disk, Mem, HDD
I do not want these to appear as drop downs though. It looks like the user must select something, and all i want is for this to populate like a read only box that has changing data that can't be edited.
