WOW, I like the templates, and paypal as well, it looks like the dogs nads.
On the report, where you choose the groupings I am having a slight dropdown prob, it only drops down 1 line and has very small scroll buttons, I seem to be having something simular on the charts as well when choosing data series

Just a couple of queries;
Any guidance you can give on what I need to do to get rid of the 'Evaluation version' message from the charts would be great (ie: do i need to buy a licence ?)
I get an error whe using the ftp upload feature on certain files;

it says

'Error uploading file 'filename' 200 switching to binary mode. Do you wish to continue ? Cancel, Try Again, Continue

Files are

img\arrowR2.gif, img\arrowR5.gif, img\bgfooter.gif, bgmain.gif, img\gray_tab2.gif, img\gray_tab3.gif, img\li.gif, img\nav.gif ( and several others)
I also get an error when I create a new page, along the lines of 'SmartyClass5 php ' error or something. As far as I can figure out it doesn't (or can't) set permissions on the templates_c directory. I am using root to upload files to my test server, so I don't think it is an issue with the user.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think this is ahuge step forward - I was just saying the other day that I wish PHPRunner could put charts on a web page - and now it can !! I'll send another email tomorrow with download link to the registered version of charts. Somehow I missed it today.
We are also looking into FTP issue. Should have a fix tomorrow.
Also I need to take a look at exact error message related to permissions. Just in case make sure web server user has WRITE permissions on templates_c folder which is required by Smarty template engine.

Hi Guys ... first, great job on the new version of PHPrunner its looking great, i do have one small problem with it.
The changes made on my tables views from version 3 have not carried over to this version.
Normally if there were small changes i wouldn't mind but i have over 40 heavily modified tables views.
Would like to know if this issues could be addressed in the next update.

I would support the wish of datapimp to be able importing 3.1 projects with the layout changes very much - I've got them even more! It would be interesting to hear concerning the following related issues too:

1. would it be possible to copy layout from ad pages to the edit and view pages?
   
2. would it be possible to copy formated (changed) pages from one app to another app with no database changes (.htm files transfer etc.?

After applying the new license the old one 3.1 disappears. If I apply the old one to the v 3.1 the new one disappears. It obvious, that the possibility to work on both versions is utmost important till the relative incompatibility (page changes) between 3.1 and 4.0 is resolved. Now, in order to work with 3.1 on old projects and with 4.0 on old ones, the license has to be changed frequently.

When going to do a minor adjustment on one of my existing applications, I discovered the same problem -- Version 3.1 says it is no longer registered. Thankfully, I don't have any immediate projects so will wait until 4 is finalized before beginning further development.

Okay, I made the minor changes to my application using 4.0 Build 235. However, I had to re-enter the ftp data, and it reloaded ALL the files rather than just the changed ones. Also, I had the same problem others reported -- the last 7 files would not upload. This did not appear to affect my final application.

Build 239 fixes FTP upload issue and registration issues.

I have sent a sepaarte email with link to download the registered version of charts.
After you install build 239 you can re-register PHPRunner 3.1.

admin my issue with the custom views not carrying over has been resolved. I've just updated build 239 and did a few other changes (not directly related to PHPR)
I don't believe PHPrunner was the issue (i think the problem was between the keyboard and the chair) sorry if i had a few of you guys / girls scratching your head up there...

I tried Build 239 today and everything seems to work except I cannot figure out how to retrieve the foreign keys on a report. The report data is showing the numeric value key (i.e. 1, 2, 3) rather than the description (toronto, montreal, japan)

When I install beta 2 I am told my trial period is expired. Beta 1 did not have this problem.
Using Beta 1, dependent dropdowns do not work. They are able to test fine from within PHPRunner but when I publish the files they do not work on my site. When I republish with 3.1 they work fine again. Hi just let you guys know that there are two bugs still from version 3.1

1. checkbox already checked ... from my prev. post:
   i know how to fix this but it would be great if you could just fix this in the next update.
   
2. It still seems to save changes to my project even if i select NO on exit. This is also from another post:

Although I used the lookup wizard succesfully for the table edit and add pages, the lookup wizard is not available for reports although there are other field choice types.
I fixed the situation by manually creating the joins in the sql to the 2 other tables.

I've got the same problem as Seldon. If there is no record in the details page there is no add and and delete links (they are if there is at least one record). For me, the problem is in layout 2. If I change layout, the problem disappears. I deleted all old folders, cache, etc. but the problem persists.

Problem accessing Search Onload Event
In the PHPRunner Visual Editor for Search Pages, there is reference to Event Onload. In the generated Search HTML Pages there is the line {doevent name="SearchOnLoad"}
However in the Events Page in PHPRunner, there are no events listed for Search Pages
I am using build 241
Something else completely.

Is there any reason why you can't sort the Table List on the Left hand side of PHPRunner, rather than being in the order that you have selected the tables? In the table selection page, the tables are listed alphabetically, but not on any other pages. It would be especially useful in the Define User Group Permissions Window to be able to group tables with the same user permissions together.

Are you going to fix FTP location bug? I've got some apps on the same site in different directories. PHPR appears to remember only one FTP location. Therefore, after switching projects I receive the FTP location from the previous one. It's quite dangerous, because, in a hurry, one could upload to the wrong site!

I just wanted to add a request: Would it be possible to add a feature that allow us to disable the details table that appears when hovering your mouse over a link? I'll potentially have several hundred details for a particular "order"/"transaction" in one of my projects and would prefer to disable this feature, but I really like it for smaller projects. It would actually be great it we could have the option to turn it on/off per list page.
Also, the following "bug" appeared in the last builds, including the latest 247 build. When doing advanced searches the <B></B> tags show up in the edit box when clicking on an entry in the AJAX auto complete feature. You are probably aware, but I just wanted to add it just in case.

thanks, somehow this bug was fixed in ASP version only.
In regards to displaying details preview we'll make sure it only display first several records and make it optional a bit later.
We also have a global AJAX on/off switch in include/dbcommon.php file however it applies to the whole project.

Visual Editor - HTML Mode

1. When you toggle in/out of the HTML Mode in the Visual Editor, the code sometimes gets reformatted. The first time you go into the code it is spaced out and aligned to the left hand side of the screen. The next time, all blank lines have been removed, and the code is indented, delimited by the <Table> and <TR> Tags
   
2. It would be useful to have a Find feature and Find/Replace feature. Is this possible?

the first issue is hard to deal with - Internet Explorer parsing engine breaks HTML code formatting and we still looking for a workaround.
We'll add Find, Find/Replace features to HTMl editor in the next minor update after this release.

I can't get the stacked bar chart to work, and I can't get the line chart to choose 'Whs' field as a data series.
What I would expect to see is 'Period' (as the labels field) across the X-axis, and each 'Whs' as a data series. (Either as a line or as a section of a stacked bar).

Am I wrong in how I have set this out ? The only item that shows up in the data series pull down boxes is the valuation field.

you can't select Whs field in the Data Series because it isn't numeric field.
I recommend you to join Whs and Period fields in the SQL query:

And then select Valuation in the Data Series and Whs/Period in the Label field dropdown boxes on the Chart parameters tab.

This created the three data columns that the chart was looking for, grouped by period.
What I was trying to achieve (I think) was something similar to M$ Access where you can create a form with a chart that uses the current whse as the basis for the chart data.

Read only Pages

It is only possible to set up the Lookup Wizard by going into Add/Edit Pages. But what if Add/Edit Pages are not required? I have to go to the PHPRunner->Choose Page, click on Pages to Build - Edit Page, go to Visual Editor, make changes to the field, then back to PHPRunner->Choose Page and unclick Edit Page.

How do you make a field updatable in the Add Page, but read-only in Edit Page e.g for a primary key, where the user will choose it in the Add Page, but you don't want them to change it in the Edit Page?

besides using Edit/Add page you can also use Search page for now.

In the next major update we'll have an option to setup Lookup wizard field right on the List page.
We'll have an option to order data by joined field in some later version. I don't remember why we don't have this feature in current version.
TO change fields order in "Search for" dropdown box you can use Visual Editor. Make this dropdown box selected and switch to HTML mode.
You cannot have different edit formats on Add/Edit page in current version.

Actually key column value is displayed on the Edit page already on the top of the page.

You can drag-n-drop it to any other spot on the Edit page.
