Cannot change 'Users Table: OwnerID field'

Since I started working with user group permissions, I cannot change the OwnerID field in a tables security settings. It always sets the usergroup field as OwnerID field. I select the appropriate field, click OK and when opening the Advanced Settings again, it displays the usergroupID.

I removed all usergroups but that had no effect on this. What is the problem?

Just recognized that I can set email, password and all other fields as OwnerID, but not the user (first field in table, primary key, varchar(30), worked fine until today...)
