Not sure if it is a bug, but after I run build, I go back make a change or not but then I go to the output screen and it has a previous virtual directory not the one I just used to build.

hi.. no problem.. i love the software and im sure everyone here finds it a really useful and easy to use software so its part of jobs to do some software testing and try to find bugs on our end. Anyways i played around with the program and tried everything I could think of and I think that is the only bug I have found so far. Hopefully the next realease is the final release <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=12224&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I just received email notification of version 4.1 with installation instructions. Should I proceed or wait til today's reported bugs are addressed?
Thank you!! I love your software and I think its great that you give customers free upgrades for the first year.
My questions is this: will I be able to make modifications to existing applications using the new version or can I keep both versions active on my computer? Some of my applications contain considerable hand modifications to the generated code.
Thanks,

Bruce

He sent me a link to build 147 which fixed this error.
Looks pretty stable.
My other issue I think was that it was using the same directory even though I had different virtual directories named.
Chris.

Sergey Kornilov admin 10/29/2006

Everyone,
if you have an issue on the add page please download build 147 at

http://www.asprunner.com/files/asprunnerpro-setup.exe
Chris,
ASPRunnerPro do not save virtual directory name but determines it in runtime using output directory as a pointer. This allows us to find correct virtual directory name even if it was renamed. This behaviour is by design.

I'm not quite sure if this is a bug or not however I gave 4.1 a peak after receiving your email notifying of the release:

  • If I assigned a variable such as strUserID to the default value of a text field the editor quotes it: "strUserID" in 4.1 whereas this was not the case 4.0
  • If I wanted to assign a value to this variable I would place the code in an aspfunction page where default values are assigned in 4.0:
    Dim strUserID

    strUserID = Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER")

    strUserID = Mid(strUserID,(instr(1,strUserID,"\")+1),len(strUserID))
    Dim strEmpID

    strEmpID = Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER")

    strEmpID = Mid(strUserID,(instr(1,strUserID,"\")+2),len(strUserID))
    ' returns field's default value
  • I tried adding these to the events onload in 4.1 also to no avail...
  • Another good example applying the network login is to a "modified" field for example the default value would be:
    strUserID & " - " & Now()
  • I added the above code to my aspfunction template...
    Have any suggestions as something like this is a key functional ability to assign a network login etc as a default value for certain fields?
  • The other issue I see is the password check box automatically un-checks when you move away from the page you were currently editing prior to compilation...
  • That's my first 30 minutes - but the concept in 4.1 so far looks good!
    Thanks!
