Show spanhis name of months in custom field

I have a custom fields to get name of month of date:
$value=date('F',strtotime($data["mes"]));

But I get it in english. I nee to show spanish name

Any idea? Thanks

May be with
setlocale(LC_ALL, 'es_ES');
but I don't know where to put this code
