Page Designer - List Page - Advanced Search Item

When I am on the Page Designer, in the upper right of the Form Layout by the Login/User there is a Gear for the Advanced Search. If I removed that from the form and Go to Pages (Choose Pages) tab EVEN IF I DO NOTHING THERE and return to the Page Designer that Advanced Search Item returns to the form. Is that really suppose to happen or is there an issue there? If did did anything on the Choose Pages Tab then I might expect such behavior. Right now it is another thing to check before I build as most of the time it is back and not wanted.
