I am lost.

I upgraded to 10.3 and converted a 9.8 project.

as I am working through getting things put back together in 10.3 and testing... I keep getting a random header and menu list

Sometimes the issue is there and other times its not..

any ideas?
Another thing I am seeing is that the font size changes from "normal" to "small" randomly

One build its right, the next build the font is small?

First of all, congrats to have been upgrading to v10.3 which has a development period of almost 3 years now

which practically means you would have access to features, clients want to see in place.
You need to understand that UPGRADING a masterpiece of software like PHPR cannot serve by 100% compatibility

to earlier versions, yet rather to fully switch to PAGE DESIGNER aone, the HTML EDITOR was left inside the PHPR

menu to bridge new and old project versions.
If you run two or more versions of PHPR on one machine, the built-in "versions history" has to jump between same

and can cause exactly of what you are seeing, not by mistake, but due to the fact, two or more PHPR versions on

one (elder) project file is to co-exist on just one system is NOT the rational and best idea to go.
My personal advice to you is this: Try to locally install v6.1 of www.virtualbox.org on your machine with either

Windows 7 or Windows 10 as operating system, plus of course your project files and v10.3 to completely separate

your testing from your main machine.
Sure, anyone wants to own a 100% down-compatibility on PHPR versions, yet in this case, as it is a three years

oriented new development of how PHPR works, yet this is a theoretical issue anyway, otherwise, on software and

its developments, we won't see monthly PATCH DAYS fro REDMOND anyway.
So, on v10.3 testing, you would definitely need to make some adjustments anyway, say, go to built-in HTML editor

to see what is happening there, compared to your "old" project, and to even drop things to install needs via the

PAGE DESIGNER which is giving true tons of more feature-rich options (which is the general meaning of upgrades).
As for me, v10.3 is already "KING", yet coming v10.4 is "CEASAR" like, say, conquering this online world anyway.

  1. For my case, i have v9.8 and 10.3 on one PC and it seems to work well, just make sure don't corrupt the file by opening the same file in different versions, when you use 10.3 on your old project, immediately save a copy of v10.3 and work from that file.
  2. To remove the header (the password admin/admin info), go to editor, and click header page on the left,

switch to "HTML Mode", and clear the text, as per the given instructions you posted.
  3. v10.3 design is different from 9.8, it is better to reset all the pages to native v10.3 and edit your modifications from ver 10.3 onwards. Your font issues could be due to the pages need to be reset in v10.3.
  4. For random menu appearing, go to page designer, check the right of the page for page properties:

eg. Page layout(left bar etc., body width, compact, standard, full, left bar width, fixed top bar, fixed side bar, collapsible left bar, etc.
Check all pages manually or you can also apply menu settings to all pages, so that the menu layout is what you want.
  5. One v10.3 advantage is you will not need to reset the pages in future, when you do any modifications to any page layout, owing to the new powerful page designer feature.
    Hope it helps.

I did save it to a new 10.3 project....

As for the header.. that is the first place I looked and the "html" is not there to remove?

as for the font size... it seems to be getting better with each build.

I am concerned about removing my older version ( 9.8 - I thought it was 9.7 but it wasn't ) as I have some projects that I really need to keep in version 9.8 format.

One day I will convert all of them over.
As I am going page by page and updating layout and snippets... things are coming together... just didn't realize how much would have to be done in order to get the project up to the current PHPR version.

That's what I get for taking time off from the project ( as this is a hobby that I thought would be interesting to learn )
We run a show kennel and I wanted to keep some basic records of the dogs and the shows... well that turned into "I bet it would be cool if" and here I am... <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=89727&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hello,
I have never had a problem running 2 versions of PHPR on the same PC. I actually do this and have both open when upgrading projects and such.
The header is coming from a template you have installed or did install at one point. Open your project folder and then the business folder. You will see all templates added to your project. Check which template has a header file in it. That will be your culprit. Just delete the file then reopen the project.
Once you upgrade to a PHPR ver that has the page designer from an old version you will definitely need to go on the editor page and reset the pages (It tells you the ones) that are not compatible. You will lose all design changes you made to these pages. You will need to rebuild in the new page designer.
Check page designer. You can turn on/off many settings for each page now.

I ended up creating a complete new project and just copying the snippets and custom views to the new project.

All my issues have been resolved.

Now I can start the custom views.....
