I have an application that is set to users can see all but only edit theirs.

Works good.
I have another table that allows me to set the assigned person same field the security uses.
I use active directory.
When I assign the user form the uggroups table it does not allow then to edit the file.
Any help in where to look for or set the user.

It is really confusing. Are you saying permissions work for one table and doesn't work for another one?

Confusing Yes:
I am not sure how to set up security.
I have selected [users can see all and only edit theirs]: But they see and can edit all.
I am unsure if relation ships are needed to be added or is this function built in from the selection made.

Make sure those users do not belong to the admin group. Admins are able to see all data.
