Is this possible in 8.1 trial - for me this is blank (windows 8.0) and after a few clicks, the page need to re-generate, because everything disappears.

Same for me, until I upgraded to IE11

I can say that IE 11 is not required but this is definitely something that is related to IE settings. Upgrading to one of later IE versions may reset settings and fix things.
In normal situation it should work with IE 9, 10, 11 etc.
