Hi All,
Went to the 'Editor', selected the 'Add Page'. Clicked the 'FreeForm Mode', clicked 'Insert Field', selected a field, nothing happened. Tried to drag the fields into the free form, nothing happened.
Switch to 'Mobile' mode, did the same, nothing happened.
Have I missed any important steps?
Thanks.

Same here mate. I start a new project, add my tables go to my add page and select Freeform mode, the fields disappear and I cant drag anything anywhere, not like the pictures in the examples?

All I can think of is it is not in the version yet and maybe still in a beta mode somewhere. Mine is PHPRunner 8.1 (Build 24702 x64) it may be in the next version. I hope anyway <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=77745&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

No serious developer on this planet would release an untested BETA version (which received warm welcome by lots of users by comments) which is NOT working on one of its new main features at all. So, the problem must depend on the desktop side of the claiming user, say, either system requirements are not met or something else. With no starting point to go (simple "it's NOT working statement") any posting would be somehow useless. So, may i suggest that on any future things like any posting should contain OS version in use, IE browser version in use, build number of the developer program (24702 x64 had never been out for download) and PHP version (5.3, 5.4, 5.5. or 5.6) in use. I myself just noticed that for some unknown reason the 24702 x86 beta build did not work on my other Windows 7 machine on the said free form issue, yet no problem for me as it worked fine on the Windows 10 beta builds (incl. current 10532 build) installed on my other machines, hence no noise making by posting this.
Finally, do NOT forget ..., if the problem is at your end and you are posting NOT WORKING into the public, it is somehow hurting the developed product itself (incl. the developers) and would provide wrong signals all around by NOT being really in existence (just at claiming user's end). Thx 4 understanding.
P.S. Generally speaking (while this forum is NOT a support forum), I had to note that the necessary discipline of thread raisers became worse, say, one they got ta reply, the majority does not give feedback whether it worked or not, with as well lots of them to simply forget to close the ticket, once solved, which is giving a wrong picture to the public too by means of one or two SOLVED threads per page with a rest of let me say "abandoned" replies. So, as a result, it drastically the motivation to comment on this and that, soory to say.

Hi walk2fly,
I agree with whatever you said. And... if you were to ready through my posting, I never say that it don't work. I always place the blame on myself first.
I tried to send to technical support, they mentioned technical support already expired.
I tried to send to forum, but.. worried that I may be flamed.
I tried to send to some bug tracker, but... where?
PHPRunner is a great product, we just want to make it better!
Thanks.

Kelvin, swanside,
here it works like it should (same build of 8.1). What about a screenshot to illustrate what you were explaining?

What does the icon right to "Freeform mode" look like?
my 2 cents,

Hi Guys.

Thanks for the constructive feedback,
Yes I am running Windows 7 Enterprise with Service Pack 1,

My PC is Inter Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @3.00Ghz and 3.00 Ghz. I have 4GB of which 3.84Gb is usable and it is running on a 64Bit operating system

I have IE10 and Chrome and Firefox for browsers.

I am also using WAMP with Apache/2.2.22 (Win32) PHP/5.4.15
As you can see from the screen shot it is actually PHPRunner 8.1 (Build 24702 x64). I know that as it says on the top of the program. Now I made a new table with a few fields in it. As can be seen from the screen shot, it shows five fields, Name, Job Title, Age, City and Country.

After I press Freeform Mode Button all goes away

Now, If I press on Insert Field, I can select the fiels I want to insert. But I can not move it anywhere. In facat I inserted all the fields and cant move any of them. I insert a table and cant move the fields into the table.

I thought from the example the screen would change to something like an autocad background where you can move the objects to a specific area, but I cant get it to do this. Which was making me think, maybe its in a different version.

And, to quote walk2fly > I myself just noticed that for some unknown reason the 24702 x86 beta build did not work on my other Windows 7 machine on the said free form issue, yet no problem for me as it worked fine on the Windows 10

it seems a bit silly if we all have to go out and buy Windows 10 for this to work, while the System requirements for Version 8 say To run PHPRunner, your system should be equipped with the following:
Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 2012, Windows 2008, Windows Vista.

Internet Explorer 9 or better.

Web server requirements:
Internet Information Server (5.0 or later) or Apache

PHP 5.2 or better

PHPRunner comes with built-in web server as well which is perfect for local testing

Supported databases:
MySQL 4.x, MySQL 5.x

Microsoft SQL Server

PostgreSQL

Oracle

Microsoft Access (Windows-based Web server only)

DB2

Informix

SQLite

Any ODBC-enabled database

Hi all,
well, I am using Windows 7 Pro, but, IE is 11.0.9600.xxxx, and it's working. I can't remember the requirements for Runner 8.1 regarding IE. Maybe this could be the reason?

I can feel it my bones from here, it's the correct IE browser version issue here to make things to run. It is has NOTHING to do with the OS version, yet as you may agree, no one (at least me) has the time and motivation to drill very deep into the casualties, or say, once it is working for me under W10, I'm fine which does not practically mean that one needs to upgrade, yet needs to drill deeper into browser version issues than ever before. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=77752&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Swanside - Interesting to learn that the x64 could be somehow downloaded somewhere, yet the official beta site only serves by x86 version, so it seems, we talk "internal" gift by somebody somewhere rather than what is available within the public. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=77752&image=2&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Have been only using Firefox all these while since its release till current 40.0.2.
If only the vendor were to specify that only certain versions and brands of the browsers are to be use to ensure that that the IDE works, all such time will be saved...
Thanks.

To run PHPRunner, your system should be equipped with the following:

YES - Windows 7

YES - Internet Explorer 7 or better (Mine was IE 10)
YES - Internet Information Server (5.0 or later) or Apache. See How to install local server.

YES - PHP 5.x or better

YES - PHPRunner comes with built-in web server as well which is perfect for local testing.

I met all the requirements, it just don't work.
I had downloaded IE 11 and yes the FreeForm Mode works now.
I am using the Enterprise Edition 64-Bit.
Thanks.

Fully agree, serious desktop runners who are running regular updating of programs in use are making less noise than others. Thank you!
P.S. And it's definitely OVER-TIME to abolish your since 1988 gained bug tracking experiences made with an other programming language and such ballast can prevent to go up into the air and to streamline with methods and innovations seen by today.

Just for your info, the firefox I am running is its latest version.
Just for your info, I repeat if you do not know how to read between paragraphs, I do not use IE.
You are making more noise than anyone else! THANK YOU!!!

P.S. And it's definitely OVER-TIME to abolish your since 1988 gained bug tracking experiences made with an other programming language and such ballast can prevent to go up into the air and to streamline with methods and innovations seen by today.

Because there was a bug tracker for the language I was using.

Because the developer is very concerned on their bugs.

Because they release patches regularly, stating all the bugs that were raised and fixed.
Wonder if you can point me to the link for the bug tracker for PHPRunner, so that I would not be flamed for bringing up such bugs. It does not work, period.
There are many other bugs that I found, the inability to insert new row in the mobile mode is only one of them, which they had agreed over the forums.
They wanted me to submit the bug to the support. When tried submitting, it prompted for new ID and password. The one which I logged in to read the tickets cannot be used to submit the bugs...
Do you mean to say that to submit bugs for PHPRunner I have to sign and pay up for support??? That is quite rare though not never.
Do not simply flame to show that you are more senior by stating "..And it's definitely OVER-TIME to abolish your since 1988 gained bug tracking experiences..", this is totally unnecessary. You are simply gilding the lily!!
If the website had stated that I require IE 11.0 and above to work on my IDE, then you may consider my posting as rubbish.
Else, why are you making all those remarks? What on earth are you trying to prove?
Additionally, I had also indicated that the issue is already being resolved.
What must you be adding 'legs to the snake'?
God bless!
THANK YOU!!

There was NO bug, there only was someone was S'pore who stumbled into this forum without actual updates as per system requirements, simply informing that "it doesn't work" without any further details to provide at least a starting point. Then, after having been called for some discipline, Swanside joing in with wpl signaling his suggestion.
What you try here is to blame others on something which was originating from your end. Is that the current working style in S'pore?

  1. Where is the URL for me to submit bugs? (I am not referring to this thread, I am having other issues).
  2. Where is the link at the website that I must at least have IE 11? It merely stated Internet Explorer 7 or better. Mine was IE 10. Isn't IE 10 later than IE 7? But it didn't work.
  3. Yes, that is our style. We go to the issues, make sure it is being solved. When it is being solved, we move on.

I have never mentioned that it was a bug. I was merely asking for steps to use the IDE. If I were as experienced as you, I would have keep my bloody mouth shut.
I really hope that all readers please kindly read my posting and tell me that my posting was wrong, I should not have posted it.
Reading my posting again and again, I really do not see how is it related to your doubt on 'Singapore Style'.
If this forum is not for users to post their doubts (not bugs), then why was it being started in the first place? For chit-chatting?
I do not and will not simply start shooting at you with guns just because I do not like your approach or culture.
I prefer this entire thread closed because so far whatever you posted was trying to pick up a fight and nonconstructive; the part on ALPHA testing and Singapore Style...
Thanks again.
