Hello,
I'm using asprunner 8.1 and I can't find any option to activate "allow free input" in the menu. -it's still deactivated.

Hi !
It's the dialog to setup a database-lookup field.

I want to give a new input when the searched string is not in database.

The option "allow free input" is not selectable.

Post a screenshot where we can see all settings on Lookup wizard dialog.
Free input is only available where display field and link field are the same field.

Make your control "Edit box with AJAX popup" to enable free input.
