Plain Export

I wrote this topic some time ago, and I have the same problem again. I would really like to generate a plain and unformatted xls or xlsx file with one row of headers, and then the raw data.
It isn't possible today. I can get close(r) by editing the printer friendly report page. For me, including formatting in the export makes sense for Word, but not for Excel. Excel is meant for direct data manipulation, and it is greatly complicated with pagination and formatting.
