I've updated a website that I originally built with Phprunner 5.2 in 2011 using the same PHPrunner 5.2 and Wampserver Version 2.1.
When uploaded to my web host's server I get runnerpage.php error 8.
My problem, I think, is that Wampserver 2.1 uses php version 5.3.5 and my web host is using php version 5.2.
My web host has the option of upgrading my account to php version 5.4.
I opened a demo account and the updated site works there - so my questions are:
What version of PHP does the demo account use, and if not 5.4 - any thoughts on whether a project built with Phprunner 5.2 is compatible with php version 5.4.

You need PHPRunner 6.x or 7.x to run your applications on PHP 5.4.

I purchased 7.0x weeks ago, but stupidly decided to start using it on my next project.
Is it backwards compatible with PHP version 5.3?

Yes, it works with all version of PHP 5.x
