What is the simplest way to restrict the output of a search to the width of the existing browser window, so that the user does not have to scroll left and right?

This is the way it works by default however if your have too many columns or rows on the List page browser won't be able to fit it into existing window. Reducing the amount of data displayed on the list page will solve this issue.

Thanks. I was afraid that would be your answer. I had already done some review of the styling, etc., and could not find a way to make any changes. In my particular situation, reducing the amount of data displayed on the list page does not appear to be an option.
