Connection String Wrong on Server asp files

In an effort to get the 'registration' function working, I was trying to get my MDB file to be in a certain directory... as suggested... in 'database'. Everything was was publishing OK until I changed the server.mappath to one of the suggestions in a support article, such as '..\..\database'. Now, everytime I publish to my FTP/virtual directory, all the xxx_dbconnection.asp programs ignore my choice in ASP runner, and just sends the MDB to the root level of the virtual directory. Can you help ?

The best way to upload your database file to the folder outside WWWROOT is to use FTP upload feature built-in into ASPRunnerPro. When you setup FTP location you can choose a separate folder to put database file.
Best of all - ASPRunnerPro will adjust connection string automatically for you when you upload files.

I have been using the ASP Runner built in FTP Publish... so that explains why it is changing... BUT, If I want the database to be in is own folder... say 'database', shouldn't ASP Runner put it there, on the Server ?? It does on my local PC, but not the server.

On FTP server setup screen you need to choose a fodler where your database should go. Did you do this?
If this doesn't help send me a screenshot of FTP server settings dialog.

OK... you can close this one out... I forgot that there was a separate db path in the FTP location properties... I was thinking the server.mappath did this.

Thanks for you help... I was very happy with 98% of the functionality...and VERY happy about the speed of user searches. I don't want to harp on the little things that much, but you know those end users !! Its a great product !
