Upgrade from 5.3 to 6.2

Hi,
I tried to fully upgrade one of my 5.3 projects to 6.2 but all gets lost. Events, custom design etc. Can this be done without losing anything?
And does the same problem arise when we would need to upgrade from 6.2 to 6.x or 7.x?

I tried already with the trial and to be honest, all gets lost.
Because without a reset of my pages nothing will work in the new layout. If I reset all events code is lost and any other custom thing.
Basically I need to start over again. Is this normal behavior?

If your pages were customized a lot in Visual Editor and you are switching from version 5.3 - you will lose your customizations. Your events code will stay intact though.

Well, that is not the case however :-) I tried it several times and my event code get's cleared.

Contact support providing a way to reproduce this issue. We'll be glad to assist. Events and changes in Visual Editor are not related. I guess something is lost in translation.
