TMP Directory

I ma asking the purpose of this directory mainly because I am using a separate FTP program that I find much easier, but I am uploading everything each time because I am concerned I may miss something if I don't select all. Is the TMP directory required to be uploaded after a change, or does it depend on the change?

There is no TMP subdirectory under output directory. You must be confusing something.

Based on this reading it does not appear that the TMP directory is needed when you upload changes.
Correct??

As Sergey said, the TMP directory is not under the OUTPUT directory.
