checkboxes changing value

I did a search in the forum and found a topic on this. but doing the changes I still received the same value when I use the checkbox. In add mode when I click the checkbox and then go to view it shows a value "ON" when it is checked and nothing when it is not checked.

I want it to say passed with no checks nad failed with a check box. Is there anways I can do this.

Sorry about the confusion. So in the add data entry page I selected the "checkbox" as a method of entering data. When I go to the view page or list page, instead of seeing a "yes" or "no" or a checkbox I see the words "on" I was wondering if there was anyway I can change this so it says "passed" with the checkbox checked and "failed" with the checkbox not checked. I guess I kinda have the same question as this guy.

I am using ACCESS as my database. SOrry if that is not clear. HOpe you can help.
