Hi Ted,
I got this error for the first time yesterday but I was using IE6. I haven't had the problem(so far) with the newer versions of IE or FireFox. I'm curious to find out what version you were using? Also, when I did a reload it worked fine and I didn't really see any decrease in speed.

looks like incorrect setup to me. The code you posted has nothing to do with autofill. Autofill is a built-in option of a lookup wizard and has nothing to do with hiding/showing controls.
