How to resize fields

Hi,
I'm trying to resize some fields but to no avail. Although the selection pins appear when clicking on a field in the editor, I can't resize it in any way.
Any idea what might cause this?

Double-click on field and set field size in characters on "Edit as" dialog.

Ah, I see. But the actual size is not visible in the editor view then, correct? So I'd have to play around with different values, build the project and check it in the browser?

That's correct, you can only the the actual running the application in web browser.
