 How do I turn off link? on file field

Does anyone know how to turn off the link that happens to a field that is defined file? I need it not to have the download.php link show up. I need it to be the actual direct link to the file in the directory, not as some download.

In this case you need to setup 'View as' type as 'Custom' and build hyperlink manually.
