Search didn't work in 5.3?

Did you take a look at the new search setting options in the choose fields page?

I did look in the search options and believe everything is searchable. My advance search also does not work.

Confirmed. I have rebuilt 2 projects in 5.3, the search does not work in either of them. I beleive I have the search options set correctly. I've actually turned everything on and removed the login requirements just to be sure. I have taken the same two projects and rebuilt then in version 5.2(build 5482) and the search is working as it should. Guess this means I really need to put 5.3 through some serious beta testing before use. Good catch Norman. I'm sure Sergey and crew will get it fixed next week.

I had the same problem with the search facility when upgrading. I do have it working at the moment but I did two things to get it operational and I am not sure which worked. I removed all the search options in Search Settings (available in Field View amd Misc. View) and rebuilt the project, I then deleted the project from the server, put back the search options carried out a new rebuild and then uploaded to the server. The problem has disappeared - either by good luck or by cleaning out redundant data.

I uploaded one of the projects to the demo account and added a support ticket. I'm sure its something small that we are over lookinging in thew convertion process.

Same story. The solution was: upgrading from php 4 to php 5.3.1

And if If I choose edit box with AJAX popup, in add page I can't save new data (can save new data in loocup wizard, and can choose, but after I geet message " required field").

I'm still experiencing this issue with the latest build. I've tried the fix suggested above and no joy. Sergey doesn't seem to be around, so I'm stuck.
I'm just learning the app, so this is just a simple 1 table project with no code - all point and click defaults. I've set the Ajax search & pagination for the list page, and JS is running in the browser. But no Ajax features are working.
Any suggestions?

Never did get mine to work so I went back to 5.2. It appeared to work if I created a new project from scratch but I was wrong. Since it works over on the DEMO account at ASPRunner I assume the current build works and there is something wrong with my server. Some library or software I'm not running. I did get the Calendar to work in 5.3 Enterprise, but that doesn't use any Search features.
Sergey is usually SPOT on so if you aren't hearing from him he may not have seen your post. Have you submitted a support ticket? If you didn't purchase technical support I encourage you to do so. Sergey and Jane are wonderful and usually VERY quick to reply.

There is no doubt you ARE the resource help. I just don't think it is a software glitch. I think it is a server configuration glitch. My Level 3 Tech Support for my server (GlobalNET) thinks it has something to do with the php itself and wants to change me to something called suphp.exe. I won't let them do that. To do so is to risk all projects not working instead of just the ones I try to build in phpRunner5.3.
I would have been in a world of hurt if you hadn't allowed me to roll back to 5.2, thank you. As it stands now IF I absolutly have to do a project in 5.3 I'll buy your hosting. So far the only one I HAVE to do in 5.3 is the one that needs web reporting under Enterprise. Unfortunately, it is sensitive and I must host that myself. Wish there was an Enterprise version for 5.2.
But in the end I think there is something missing from the server library. Some function XLINESOFT expects the server to be running and those of us having problems are working on servers that do not meet a specification. What XLINESOFT could do if they wanted to invest time and money in this is to create a script that runs on the server prior to using phpRunner and checks to make sure all software versions and services are running and current as compared to whatever phpRunner5.3 is looking for. I'll bet dollars to donuts there is some DLL or service running your your server that is not running on the server of those of us that are having problems. Some fundemental library or service has changed between 5.2 and 5.3, some upgrade was perfromed that changed a configuration and this is why some customers have no problems while others are having too many problems to use the new 5.3 version.

Hi to all with that search problem. I did the upload to the demo account, and ... the application worked there. At the moment I'm waiting for further response from the support team.
