PHPRunner General questions

Hello.
I am interested in purchasing this software. I will be asking a LOT of questions after I purchase since I have to complete a pretty extensive database project for a client. I purchased another piece of software, and while pretty good, it does not have enough customization to the level that I require. So, I have a database, but lots and lots of crap to to do it. I am hoping phprunner will be my answer. I have limited coding experience (basic, visual basic, html, some php, lua/python), but am not an expert by any means, so I hope there are friendly, helpful people here (and I, of course, will help people as I learn the ropes and get proficient at phprunner) who can lead me in the proper direction when the time comes.
My first question is: if you spend the $400 on phprunner software, you cannot make charts or reports until you upgrade to the enterprise edition? Is that accurate?
The database and website will need per user permissions to view certain fields, while not others. Is this possible?
Is it possible, using phprunner, to make it so that a group of people can only view their employees out of a larger database table, but not see other records?
Is it possible to hide a section of a form until a dropdown is selected, and then the proper form appears depending on what was selected?
Is it possible to have one group search for another group's records and not vice versa (I need employers to search for candidates that meet their needs)?
Is it possible to move records (candidates) once they have been 'approved' to another group that has different permissions?
I could keep going since this client's project is so darn deep (of course, they did not let me know that from the start), so I want to make sure if I spend the $$, phprunner can deliver. I understand that custom coding may be required and I noticed that phprunner allows for this.
I just hope all of you nice people will help me out if and when I need it. The last software I used had a forum - and it is a veritable desert! You could wait for a week for one person to see your question. I don't have a lot of money, but I may need some advise from time to time.
Thank you in advance for answering my questions.
Mike

Mike,
this is not a support forum and you can get better and faster response if you contact support directly at http://support.xlinesoft.com.
See your answer inline.
>> My first question is: if you spend the $400 on phprunner software, you cannot make charts or reports until you upgrade to the enterprise edition? Is that accurate?
You can build charts and reports in $399 version. Enterprise Edition adds web report/chart builder that allows your customers build their own ad hoc reports.
>> The database and website will need per user permissions to view certain fields, while not others. Is this possible?
Yes, you can do this using Custom Views and User Group permissions.
>> Is it possible, using phprunner, to make it so that a group of people can only view their employees out of a larger database table, but not see other records?
Yes, advanced security mode 'Users can see and edit their own data only' allows you to do this.
>> Is it possible to hide a section of a form until a dropdown is selected, and then the proper form appears depending on what was selected?
Yes, here is an example:

http://xlinesoft.com/phprunner/docs/show_dropdown_list_of_us_states.htm
>> Is it possible to have one group search for another group's records and not vice versa (I need employers to search for candidates that meet their needs)?
Yes, you can restrict access to data for certain groups using User Group permissions
>> Is it possible to move records (candidates) once they have been 'approved' to another group that has different permissions?
Yes, permissions are tied to GroupID field. Once you change value of GroupID field of any member she will be moved to another group automatically.

I assume that if I purchase phprunner, I can get tech support and advice here, right?
I am not the strongest coder in the world and may need some guidance for the harder concepts. I have been looking at several database php software apps like yours and the major factor for me (other than a program that meets my needs) is a lively and current forum that gets answered in a timely fashion.
dbQuikSite is one of them, but it seems that the last real help was given in early 2009. Not good.
Another software I found has no forum - not good.
From what I have seen here, the support staff does a good job of resolving things. In fact, I am surprised by the level of complexity in the questions asked - which is a good thing. I am glad to see that phpunner is so open ended and allows for scripting.
I should be purchasing later tonight.
