 Order of records for Move Next/Previous buttons

Hello,
I know I've seen this on the forum before, but I can't find my way back to the post (I find this new forum difficult to search... but that's a topic for another day). When on an Edit page and I click the previous or back button, how is it determined what record comes up next? Can I control this?

Next/Prev buttons use current sort order if any. If data is not sorted in any way it sorts it by key column behind the scenes.
PS. we use the same forum software since 2003. Search function is terrible, agreed.

Thanks. That makes sense.
I could have sworn I used to be able to do advanced search with "+firstword +secondword" to do a seach for posts that incuded both words.
Wouldn't it be cool to have a forum site made with ASPRunner? With the awesome search functions, comments as details records, easy navigation... that'd be cool.
