Hyperlink to network documents

I am evaluating ASPRunner Pro and haven't been able to successfully create hyperlinks to Microsoft Word documents stored on a network share. The paths to the documents are stored like this: file://networkshare/folder/subfolder/name.doc#
A competing program I'm also evaluating handles the hyperlinking fine. Can anyone help, please?
