Advanced search dropdown dependent on text field

I have been trying for days to get this right, but whatever I try doesn't seem to work.

In advanced search I have 3 fields

part number (text box)

description (text box)

group (dropdown)
I am trying to restrict the group dropdown to containing any part of the the decription text field
I am trying something like

" Description like '%"&request("Description")&"%'"
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
just use Contains search option on the advanced search page.

Thanks for your reply, but that is not what I am trying to achieve

I will try and explain better
After entering something in the desription text field

the drop down list in group needs to be restricted to only those records containing that desription. (this allows the search to be "fine tuned")
The reason is that just searching on description returns to many records

If the group drop down is not restricted, then most selections will return no records.
I have tried using where under search properties

But my coding is not so great

I can get it to work with some text enterd in the formula above, but I cannot get it to reference the description text field
I hope this makes it a bit clearer

What does drop down list in group mean? Could you open a ticket at http://support.xlinesoft.com sending a detailed description of what you want to achieve and screenshot with your advanced search page?
