Hi

I can't get my head around this software and just wondering if there is anyone out there that would build a site for payment?
Thanks

I think you should be a little more specific about what your trying to accomplish?

Provide an overview perhaps? Planning is usually a good idea? Good database knowledge is essential to building a reliable project!

  1. What sort of data are you trying to manage?
  2. What would the key relationships and content be? (e.g. ordering and invoicing system? Product cataloging?)
  3. Functions that would be required (e.g. uploading files? Sending email notifications? Managing users with various permissions?)
  4. Plan your project from the ground up (look closely at things like table and field names, make sure you stick to pre-determined naming conventions otherwise it gets real messy)
  5. Pretty looking websites are great only if the core back-end is fully developed.
    My 2 cents.
    Good luck!

Currently my site is all html based. It is a villa website but being html means all the villas need to be listed in a table.
This does not allow users to search based on price, size, type, location etc which I want to try and do.
Id like a regular homepage like I already have but then "villa link" which would take you to a system which if you clicked on for example 4 beds in kissimmee it would list all the 4 bed villas in kissimmee or if people want to search they can do. I tried to use this software but from what I see the template cannot be changed, Im stuck with London, Paris etc and the colours? www.floridadreamsvillas.com/test/
Plus the url of this are not search engine friendly by the looks of it. A lot of php sites I have used lately have been search engine friendly which makes them easier to index. I have looked at CMS systems but I dont think there is enough flexibility in some of them so probably need to start from the ground up...
Thanks for help, Nick

A good alternative I have used before was Joomla CMS with commercial real estate management module on top.

PHPR site offers a template that you might want to tryout and is a good price for a lot of value. I have never seen such proactive support from other SW vendors. So clear choice is use PHPR if you are ready to invest time to look after the site yourself. There are other options for outsourcing but might defeat the purpose of looking after the website yourself.

So no need to reinvent the world, lots of choice available if you are ready to dig around and try to find out what's best suited for your needs

I have got my head round this software a bit and have managed to get a website running - somewhat. But I need help going to the next level and will pay for that assistance. The basic feature of my work is writing medical narrative reports. Client details (as much as can be structured in database tables) are stored in tables. The stored data is used to generate sentences for the narrative report.
Basic outline:

CLIENT DETAILS

INSTRUCTING PARTY DETAILS

MAKE NEW CASE FOR CLIENT (ONE CLIENT CAN HAVE MANY CASES)

APPOINTMENT DETAILS

COMPLETE QUESTIONNAIRE FOR/WITH CLIENT

-QUESTIONNAIRE ENTRY STRUCTURED USING MULTIPLE LOOKUP TABLES

-QUESTIONNAIRE DESIGN REFLECTS REPORT SECTIONS

USE QUESTIONNAIRE DATA TO GENERATE NARRATIVE REPORT

-SOME SENTENCES FROM TEMPLATES (rather like mailmerge)

-SOME SENTENCES FIXED

-SOME SENTENCES FROM HELPER TABLES

-ABILITY TO EDIT ABOVE SENTENCES (perhaps in pop-up window)

-FREETEXT SENTENCES PROBABLY EASIEST TO DO
I have written program in VB6 (VB6/MS ACCESS/MS WORD/ACROBAT) that works reasonably well and could serve as basis for porting. I do not require beginning-to-end programming but the solution of specific constructs (e.g. MENUS, GENERATING LISTS, LIST ITEMS x SUBFORM-like DATA, CALCULATED VALUES, SOME RULE BASED SENTENCE GENERATION etc) using PHPR. Can discuss payment terms and further details if there are any advanced users willing to take this on.
Cheers

Nic,
have a look at Jade Property Suite, it's free (google it for a download link), it may do what you want and a bit more besides.
I do not have any connection with them, but do find it very easy to use and it requires no coding knowledge at all.
cheers,
