Remind option when password is encrypted

Is there a way to get the remind option to work when using encrypted passwords?
I know you can't recover the actual password, but creating a new one, setting the database to the md5 of the new password and then sending them the password would be fine, since that's about the only way to do it I would think.
Can PHPR do something like this?
