problems after moving site to new server & domain

Working on Server1, using domain.net we have created a site. Now that it is approved we have moved the generated files to clientdomain.com and Server2. We have updated the config file to match the new domain - but the site doesn't run.
When we test the phprunner.php file, and do show schema, we get the following error:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity

We've checked with the files on Server1 and everything works perfectly. The hosting company is telling us it's our code, but when all you're doing is trying to get the table schema - that's hard to believe.
Any suggestions on what's wrong - or what to tell the hosting company to do (politely)?
