Next Button on View Page

How can add a NEXT and Previous button to move to the next and previous record on the view page .

This does cause users confusion, it would be great to move to a more conventional

Style navigation (not sure how that'll come over on the posting!)
I,e, to the start of results, previous page of results, list of current range of pages , next page of results, end of results.
