Hyperlink not working on view page

The field contains a url eg: www.aristocrat.com.au. I have set the properties of the URL field in ASPRunner Pro to Hyperlink and open in new browser. However while the field does show as a hyperlink it just adds the url to the current path and does not open in a new window.
