email reminder

In the database I use I have a table I keep user ids, password,assocation and email address in. Ihave it checked to send a reminder if someone forgets their userid and password. When I ask for this from an account, I do not get an email. We have watched the incoming requests on our linux email server, but do not see a request to send mail from the server the pages are located. We can telnet to the email server fine from the server to the email server. The email server requires authorization prior to sending email. Any suggestions?

Have you checked your Email Settings configuration for your mail server under User Login Settings.

This is where you would set up your authentication and such.

I am able to use the account from any other machine to check and send email so the settings I believe are correct. It seems like it isn't sending a request. Should I put the ip of email server in instead of name?

I am not an expert but eathier the IP of your smtp mail server should work or the name must be formated like so: smtp.charter.net
