PHPRunner General questions

Hi there!
I'm a reasonably new web designer, mainly html but have also used a few open source cms's (and like!). But I'm looking to develop php/mysql dynamic sites now for myself and my clients. I have little to no knowlage of php (can read/hack it a bit but no write) and PHPRunner seems to be v'interesting as it could solve my noobieness!
I found out about PHPRunner when researching another software that looked interesting....now dont spit at me! EasyGen was its name and it had very mixed reviews when I went hunting, although the "magazine" reviews said it rocked, I looked a lil deeper.
So...the question is, is PHPRunner the answer?!!
I pick things up quick and moving into dynamic sites is my next move, to enable me to move my business on to the next level and as always money is an issue (lack of it) so I don't want to make a mistake when purchasing software....so convince me!! <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=question&id=6619&image=1&table=forumtopics' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
P.S. on hunting thro the web for reviews and such like I came across this... at "securityfocus.com/bid/21054/discuss"; and several other sites
XLineSoft PHPRunner PHPRunner.INI Local Information Disclosure Vulnerability
XLineSoft PHPRunner is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability due to a design error.
Attackers could exploit this issue to access sensitive information that could aid in further attacks against the affected computer and related databases.
Version 3.1 is vulnerable; other version may be affected.

Has this been rectified?

Sergey or Alexey will have to respond to the Security issue but I will respond to the rest of your post. I absolutely love PHPRunner, I use it exclusively for PHP/MySQL development, for me there aren't enough hours in the day, I can't justify spending time hand-coding a project in eclipse or ultra-edit (which is what I used to use from time to time) when I could spend a few bucks and save a whole lot of time by using a Code Generator. For me it's just a no-brainer, :-)
If you are concerned about the code that PHPR generates don't be, it generates clean code and Visual Editor is very easy to get around in! I also enjoy the Database Configuration "wizard" as well, it saves a whole lot of time. Hope this helps!

I agree on the security questions, ask: support@xlinesoft.com, however.....

I've been using PHPRunner for about a year+ now, and have been impressed in three specific areas.

  1. Support has been awesome and reasonable too. I had them develop a custom app for me, and it was both promptly delivered and bug free.
  2. Version enhancements have been great. I started with version 3.0 and am now using 4.1. I was disappointed in the lack of migration from 3.0 to 4.0, but understand, given the nature of adding the Visual Editor. Awesome capabilities continue to be added.
  3. The basic features that you are allowed to incorporate into your apps, w/ no programming is amazing. Add to that the open nature of being able to add custom code, and the power is definitely there.

I love it! It can be as simple or as complicated you would like. Lately for me is complicated and I been needing much help to get around some of the limitations I HAVE. I am sure there are better ways of doing what I am doing, but since my php/mysql knowledge is some what limited, it takes me a while and a few help messages on different forums.
I really really like the program, but I can't say that in minutes you have a great site online. But within a few hours or days you can have an IMPRESSIVE ONE online. People that have seen my latest work using phprunner are just amazed and tell me how impressed they are with how the site functions. It is fairly easy to tie in security levels for users, if you want them to edit, add or delete database.
I have created several sites that are part phprunner and part is just plain old html coding. But it works really well together and my customers are happy with the fact that they can easily update portions of the site. If they opt for me to do it - I love the fact that it only takes a few seconds to update.
One of the great benefits with phprunner is the customer help too! Another is that there are so many great people in the forum are eager to help point you in the right direction.
For what I need it does a great job! As far security so far so good for me. But I will be checking this post to see what is said by the security things you found on the internet. I think I remember a posting awhile back in the forum about some of those subjects. You might want to do a search on it.
Best wishes,
Kim
