ASPRunnerPro/PHPRunner come with six layouts (Default, Madrid, Rome, London, Amsterdam and Paris) and five colors schemes. We trying to find out what layouts are used the most and if we need to add more layouts and color schemes.
If you know a good layout example feel free to post the URL here.

I am definite in favor of Amsterdam, not because I am Dutch or orange is the color of the royal family or the color of the dutch sports teams , but the color matches the layout of the website www.amsterdamhaarlembasketballweek.nl where the databases are used. Our color is also orange.

I have been using the London style and Default Layout. The style sheets have got much larger since version 4.0 (from 285 lines to 1258 lines). There appears to be a lot of repetition, and because there are so many refences to font, font-size, color etc it does make it very difficult to modify it. In version 4.1, the default style sheet has been dropped.
Can we a basic (smaller) Default style sheet that would easier to modify?

Of the different colour schemes, I like 'Silver' the best.

I would use london, but I find the Row height is larger than Paris, I think because of the GIF used in the header columns. can that be reduced in size?

M
mrpeeble 10/15/2007

i like default - paris as we need a lot of width to show all the database fields.

Actually both London and Paris are good and all layouts are fine in general. If more options are provided for Master-detail presentation, that would be better.

London is my Favorite!

cagleyleslie 10/15/2007

For color schemes, I currently use London. But my all-time favorite was Rosewood. That disappeared in version 5.1, and I miss it!

admin 10/15/2007

Guys,
thank you for the feedback!
As far as I understand we need to make Silver and Rosewood styles compatible with new layouts and add it back to PHPRunner/ASPRunnerPro.
Gordon,
since we have five layouts now each stylesheet needs to carry all classes definition for all layouts. We'll take a look at how it can be simplified by merging class definitions.
Shandy,
unfortunately I don't see any difference between row height in Paris and London.

London and

Madrid/w london colors

Love the Madrid layourt and overall look but prefer blue/grey colours to the browns. Madrid with London colours is ok but would like some darker shades of blues/greys to give the same solid look as the Madrid colours...

I would like to see more variants of blue and green.
I would also like to see a feature in PHP Runner where one can easily change the color codes Eg. via a dropdown or something. We had this feature in DBQwiksite and it was great. The program itself was far behing PHPRunner off-course.
Being a South African, Green and Gold - The Springboks colours -would be great to celebrate thet we are going to win the Rugby world cup tomorrow evening.

Yes more variant color Dark blue, Red, Black etc. Specially in LONDON or to all layout and styles.

mmponline 2/13/2008

I use the default most of the time, as most Dbs are only a part of a bigger site and easier to integrate.

The other styles are great however. I would like to see an easier way to change colour schemes (CSS) from within the program.

Hello
I have been forever using
Layout: Deafult

Color Schema: Dfault5
Is it the color Defaul5 under a different name in ASPRunner 5.2 that I am missing? I would need that to continue with same layout and colors schemas.
Thanks

There is a simple solution for this, use the free service available at : http://www.cleancss.com/
In just a few seconds, you get a cleaned CSS source code.

Try it, you'll love it <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=26250&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Example : for this page of the forum, the results are :

Input: 33.031KB, Output: 25.344KB, Compression Ratio: 23.3% (-7687 Bytes)
Plus many errors or incompatibilities corrections proposed...
So, bookmark this site if it is not already in your favorites.

Firstly I think phprunner is fantastic... I have been using it now for nearly 2 years. My biggest issue with styles is that if I am building something it ususally is part of another web site or tied to another web site and I have to start mucking about with the layouts and colurs and fonts and stuff.
How about a style editor?
Or does someon have one that they use that is fairly simple, easy and compatible...
Thanks for all your hard work

I think PHP Runner is great too!

Just downloaded it yeserday and already have database pages which are a long way towards what I want.
I have a similar situation to the last post...
I am integrating the pages into another website and would like to match colours.

I don't know much about html or CSS but I think I'm right in thinking that in a CSS

file you could define a palette of about 6 colours which would then be used to define

all the other colours.
If this were done at the top of the CSS file then it would be a pretty easy job to customise.
And maybe even a relatively easy job to add a feature into PHPRunner to allow editing the

palette onscreen!
Kind regards
Suhada

Have Just found a freeware css editor called eclipsestyle.

It looks like it could help.

Don't have time to look in detail now but thought I'd let you know.

Kind regards

Does anyone have a merged layout of London and Madrid?

I like the tabs in the madrid list layout and would like to add to it the menu as shown in the london layout.

This would provide the user with 2 ways of naviagation: both tabs and menu.

Can someone help?

Any expert who could do this and post the files for everyone to use as a new combined layout please? <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=36299&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

many thanks
Cheers

The current templates are functional, but are somewhat out dated looking. I think we need templets with some

better graphics, and more modern looking interface, like this new forum look.

Some sharper lines, some better color schemes. Replace characters like ">" with some graphics.

Can you add something like that ?

hichem 10/4/2009

I wish that we could get another template (like this new one for the forum).

Also would be great if templates could be assigned to individual users (common feature for many CMS systems). This means that say if there are 3 templates available, each user can select or be assigned a different template. Ideally a drop down list to select on the ASPR/PHPR page the template and change it on the fly.

A great feature to offer users the choice of a couple of templates to choose from within the web page.
Some DHTML/Javascript or AJAX framework to encapsulate each screen area in its own window that can be expanded or moved would be great. This would take the need for hardcoding the size of each area (left menu, center block, etc).

May be it would be possible to choose how many areas or frames each page can have and then select the tables to put in each area. This would provide great flexibility over the screen real estate.

If we had a few of these 'windows' on each page then these could act like wrappers for external pages that would integrate perfectly into the ASPR/PHPR project (similar to the wrapper concept used in Joomla CMS)
Many thanks

It would be amazing to have instant access to the CSS and change colors on the fly. Or to incorporate PHPRUNNER with a program like www.Artisteer.com That would be an amazing match made in heaven.
