I have a database that is made in ver 3.0. It is a photodatabase.
Back then thumbnaild were generated as .gif filers
now the ver. 4.0 appears to generate .jpg files.
How do I get PHP runner to generate gif files so i maintain the integrity of the database?

Morten,
I'm afraid there is no easy way to do this.

I recommend you to convert all you GIF thumbnails to JPEG using specialized software.

P.S. Morten, you had been recently gambling with AJAX within the early builds of PHPR, showing a demo link like www.jepsen.no/test.php (meanwhile dead...), where you had been showing a simple SEARCH field on top where any typed in character had been narrowing the displayed content via AJAX, would be interested in that, for a simple PRICE-LIST purpose..., any new link provision possible ?
