I just purchase a new Dell with Vista 32bit OS. When I tried to to run ASPrunner 5.0 the Web site URL is grayed out. I have tried everything I can but with no avail. Can someone tell me if it is possbile to fix this problem.
I have Vista Home Premium.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I to have Vista it security locks and limit premissions on everything. I had to my I.E. security settings to low, then I re-installed Mozillia Firefox Explorer and had no problems. You will need to go into your control panel and reduce your security settings and at times you may even have to go to the specific folder and change them. I had a heck of a time with Vista I just changed to it on Friday and still trying to work out issues. It's a Great O.S. but difficult to figure out. If you need more help then that I can try but that is what I had to do it took me a few hours.

Short answer: install Windows XP professional
Long answer: Microsoft did a pretty good job to make sure ASP applications won't run on Vista
Here is what you need to do:

  1. Make sure IIS is installed/enabled
  2. Turn on ASP (turned off by default)
  3. Turn on IIS 6 compatibility mode
  4. Follow the steps mentioned in this article as by default correct permissions are not set on the folder where ADO stores temporary files:

For more info on making Vista work with ASP pages you need to contact Microsoft support.
