Characters remaing counter?

Is it possible to have a field that has a character limit (say a notes field that is limited to 200 characters) show a counter of how many characters remain for data entry? I've never attempted such a thing, so I'm not sure if I need a JavaScript or something like that or if maybe one of the RTE's that is available will do this. Does anyone know by any chance how I could make this happen or if it's even a possibility?

When I was snooping around for some other script, I came accross a number of javascripts that would do that sort of thing.
I believe I was in the REGEX website looking for form field formating script.
Just Google a few time for" javascript text area character counter" or something like that.

DHTMLGoodies have some great scripts for these kind of things.
