Subject: Request for Clarification on Step 11 of ASPRunner.NET WordPress Template Integration

Dear Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I require assistance with integrating the WordPress Template for ASPRunner.NET Enterprise 10.9.1 (Build 41974 x64). I’ve taken several steps to ensure a successful deployment but have encountered significant difficulty specifically with Step 11, which remains unclear and appears to be inadequately documented.

Here is a summary of the environment and steps I’ve followed:

I upgraded my hosting plan to a proper WordPress-compatible Linux hosting solution, as the previous VPS + iframe workaround proved unsuitable.

My application is now hosted at:

http://www.kbor.tech

https://www.kbor.tech

The ASPRunner.NET application was developed locally on my laptop using IIS (not Express). The MySQL database is remote, hosted on the same server as the website.

I used FTP to upload the project files as per your official documentation.

I created a project without security, completing Steps 1–4 and 8–10 successfully.

However, Step 11 is very confusing and lacks proper clarity, especially regarding the use of the shortcode:

[wpphprunner page="<project url>"]

My questions are:

  1. Should <project url> refer to the remote hosted path of the project on the web server where the plugin is installed? I Assume (wpphprunner page="cod3x_harvester.aspx")

Or does it refer to the local development path from my laptop?

  1. What is the correct usage for inserting the shortcode — should it be placed in a WordPress post or a page?

Posts or pages containing this shortcode currently fail to save, regardless of the theme used.

I have tested the template using multiple WordPress themes, including:

  • Twenty Nineteen
  • Hello Elementor
  • Head Blog
  • Vilva
  • Sydney
  • Zakra (currently active)

Unfortunately, the available documentation and forum discussions regarding this template do not provide sufficient clarity or troubleshooting guidance.

Request:
I would appreciate a detailed explanation or updated documentation on Step 11, including a working example of how the [wpphprunner] shortcode is properly constructed and used in production with a deployed application.
Attached I have uploaded Images to assist with Issue in hand.

Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,
Karl Bornmann

Hi Karl,

I understand that you're facing difficulties with Step 11 of the ASPRunner.NET WordPress Template integration. Let's clarify your questions regarding the shortcode usage and address the issues you're experiencing.

Answers to Your Questions:

  1. Shortcode URL Reference:

  2. Usage of the Shortcode:

    • You can insert the shortcode into either a WordPress post or a page. However, ensure that you are using the classic editor or a block that supports shortcodes if you're using the block editor.
    • If you are experiencing issues where posts or pages containing the shortcode fail to save, there might be a conflict with the theme or another plugin. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:
      • Disable all other plugins except for the one that provides the [wpphprunner] functionality and see if the problem persists.
      • Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) and test again.
      • Ensure that you are using the latest version of WordPress and that your PHP version is compatible with the plugin.

Additional Request for Documentation:

To assist you better and ensure you have a working example of how to implement the shortcode, I recommend reaching out directly to the ASPRunner.NET support team with the clarified points above and asking for updated documentation or a clearer example regarding Step 11.

Conclusion:

Make sure to use the correct URL format in your shortcode and check for any conflicts with plugins or themes that might be causing the issue with saving your posts/pages. If the problem continues, providing further details about any error messages or behavior could help diagnose the issue better.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

Kind regards,
