Update to Bootstrap 5

Yes, this is definitely needed. Bootstrap 3 is now 8 years old.

Can I add my vote to this - updating bootstrap would be very welcome and give the GUI a spring clean / add capability.

Add my vote as well. I would like to take advantage of the Data attribute API.

It get's my vote. I'd like a newer version of Bootstrap, as it's been stated v3 is getting on a bit now and was officially end of life on 2019, bootstrap 4 has also reached end of life so it would make sense to leapfrog v4 and go direct to v5.

I'm using v5 for any external pages so it would be a bit more convenient to use the version which is in phprunner for the theming rather than have 2 version in the same application.

But I also understand the issues with upgrading, there's going to be bootstrap 3 specific plugins which would need to be replaced and integrated, then all the html classes in all the templates, phprunner V11 isn't complete yet either so I'd rather have a full working v11 first with all the templates and bugs sorted out, JWT finished on the rest API would be nice as well as I might need that.

I am with you that the most important thing for all those who use phprunner is that version 11 stabilizes and has all the functionalities that XLINESOft indicated that it was going to have, but that is not contradictory to request an evolutionary line of one of the aspects of the product .

Fernando, Yes, you're right, nothing wrong with requesting an updated framework to be added.I was just thinking this won't happen in V11 due to the workload.

I am adding my vote as well.

The rest of my website uses Bootstrap 5. If PHPRunner also used Boostrap 5, I would be able to use the same code in the header and footer as the rest of my site so everything looks seamless.

I have been asking support for that for 5 years now. Even would be happier with 4 , now there's 5.

Just thought I would return to this thread. Although the functionality of PHPR is remarkable, and the ability to write in custom code in the design process, Im finding that the apps are begining to look rather dated in appearance and UI elements. Not a criticism because clearly there has been some amazing work done on v11, but, of course, the end users / clients dont see that - they just see the app, and as we all know, perhaps irrationally, the appearance of the application and the UI are disproportionately important in their perception of the application as a whole. Does anyone know just how much work would be involved in updating Bootstrap? Is this something that users could do themselves without breaking the core modules?
