Scroll table data option disabled

I haven't used this feature much, but I have a situation where it is needed, but th eoption is grayed out (disabled) in the list page settings. What could be causing this to happen?

Never mind. It appaers you have to disable both "AJAX search..." and "Allow show/hide..." I had tried disabling one thing at a time but had not tried disabling multiple options.
