ASPRunner Filter or Search with dropdown list, on a list page

I want a dropdown list in either search of filter on a list page.

Any suggestions, how can I achieve that. Filter does show all values ( can limit to first few), but with a long list of values it is very inconvenient.

Can you show us a screenshot of two that illustrate the current display issue and also the desired outcome?
