I have a field that is edited as text and has a custom value generated for the "view as" value. The value generated by the custom code is not stored in the field, so when in edit mode it is blank. How do you store the generated value in the field so that it can be see in edit mode? Please advise.

I believe my earlier approach was in error. I am now trying to use editing field events to use the values in two fields to calculate the value of the third field. I have set it up based on information in the help file, but it does not seem to be working.

Well, as it turns out the field event had not held as editing. When I went back and checked everything and reset it to editing, this time it held and it appears to be working fine.
